The origin of water
About Iceland
As one of the youngest islands on Earth, Iceland is blessed with natural beauty and pristine ecosystems. Hundreds of years of volcanic activity and abundant, beautiful glaciers have left the country with a unique landscape, earning it the nickname "the land of fire and ice." The Icelandic people also prioritize preserving the pristine beauty of their natural environment, allowing us to enjoy some of the cleanest, purest water in the world.
The legendary Aarhus Spring
Long before humans arrived in Iceland, a massive volcanic eruption formed Århus Spring deep beneath the earth's surface. For the next 5,000 years, the water has slowly filtered through layers of lava, creating exceptionally pure, naturally alkaline water with the perfect mineral balance.
Protected by an impenetrable layer of lava rock and surrounded by a 128,000-acre exclusion zone, Århus Spring is replenished by rainwater and melting snow that is gradually filtered through the pristine lava rock.
The Aarhus spring, one of the largest springs in the world, releases over 900,000 cubic metres of water into the sea every day.

State-of-the-art facilities
Icelandic Glacial™ is a fully sustainable operation powered solely by geothermal and hydroelectric power.
The 7,688 square foot facility is one of the greenest and cleanest in the world. Fully automated, it can produce up to 30,000 bottles per hour, and its water replenishment process is carried out in a cleanroom environment held to the highest laboratory standards.
And because Icelandic Glacial™ water travels directly from the underground spring to our bottling facility, the bottling facility maintains positive pressure to keep out outside air, so the first time this incredibly pure water—nothing added or removed—encounters the outside air is when the bottle seal is broken.
